I think it takes more than a single moment to compel someone to do something risky. For me, it was a series of things that compelled me to give up my career and risk pretty much everything to start this business. Firstly, I was sick of being told at work that the job I was on expected layoffs in the next week or the next day. I was tired of the uncertainty. I knew other individuals that felt the same and to me it was toxic. From that, I decided to go off on my own and provide quality service to customers. Hence, the creation of Big Bear Electrical Contracting. I wanted to prove to customers that there are still contractors they can trust and give honest answers to their questions with fair pricing. I wanted the customers to understand that our company is looking for long term relationships and getting rich off of one job is not realistic. By doing this, I know, I no longer need to worry about someone else leading my career. I am the owner/operator and enjoy doing what I love. As my business grows, I can bring on staff that I can train up and trust to do the same.
